  • 2026
    • April 2026: Annual Kiltwalk April 2026 : 9 Ur-Turn members, 3 Trustees 2 staff members and Volunteers including our youngest members Ebony age 9 and Orla 7 took part in the annual kilt walk to raise vital funds for their projects raising over £2000.
  • 2025
    • October 2025: New community gardening group supporting health minds funded by WDCVS Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.
    • September 2025: Launch of the Awards Group running in partnership with local primary schools.
    • September 2025: Launch of Family Support Group targeting family members affected by a loved ones substance use.
    • August 2025: New full-time admin assistant joins the Haldane Youth Services team. Welcome Leanne.
    • May 2025: Thanks to Jack and Lauryn for their amazing efforts at the Glasgow Kilt Walk, raising £1000 for Haldane Youth Services.
    • April 2025: U-Turn went to Edinburgh Dungeons. Thanks to Sealife Loch Lomond for supplying tickets. This gave some of the local youths their first time being outside of West Dunbartonshire.
    • April 2025: First-ever Family Easter Fun Day held at Haldane Youth Services.
    • March 2025: Launch of the HYS Hub 16+. Running fortnightly for young adults in West Dunbartonshire.
    • February 2025: We were awarded £40,000 by the Millionaire Street Fun run, the Postcode Lottery (Postcode Community Trust). Thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery and funding raised through the Postcode Lottery Trust.
  • 2024
    • HYS Management Board completed Trustee training with Community Enterprise, Funded by Young Start The National Lottery Community.
    • HYS Managment Board now known as HYS Board of Trustees.
    • Welcomed our new Treasurer.
    • Change of structure to the projects, Carolyn Mackie Project Manager and Jack Martin Project Assistant.
    • Three new staff members joined the team.
    • Happiest Moments at the Kiltwalk ,£5000 donation award by The Hunter Foundation.
    • New Partnership WDAPD Building Bridges, weekly drop-in session every Wednesday 11:30am- 2pm.
    • New window upgrades to the Annexe Building completed.
    • Staff and young people attended BIG IDEAS event Youth Scotland.
    • Currently working on new strategy.
  • 2023
    • New revised Young Volunteer Scheme started.
    • We carried on with all the services from the previous year.
    • Staff completed training with Mental Health UK to deliver Your Resilience Programme.
    • Young people completed 12 week Your Resilience programme.
    • Young Volunteers completed "I lead training" with Youth Scotland
  • 2022
    • All projects going from strength to strength.
    • Launch of Project 7 working with young people p7-S2.
    • Two new team members joined HYS
    • 50 Young people attended Christmas Pantomime at Kings Theatre Glasgow.
  • 2021
    • Summer extravaganza 5 weeks of fun in partnership with WDC Shine nurture and engage.
    • New project established Raising Stars working in partnership with local childminders
    • Service reopened September for face-to-face delivery
  • 2020

    Covid‑19 pandemic led to the closure of all face‑to‑face services in March.

    • Introduced Helping Hands, providing at‑home activity packs, food support and hygiene essentials to families.
    • Ran our first Elf Trail family activity day, offering a safe outdoor activity during restrictions.
  • 2019
    • New projects launched of Mini Hoppers & Project 7
    • European Open water Championships – parade - Mural
    • Building of community memorial sensory garden in partnership with the Leamy Foundation
    • Cove ur-turn art mural
  • 2018
    • Secured new premise – Annexe Building in old Jamestown Primary grounds from West Dunbartonshire council.
  • 2015
    • Thirteen P7 pupils embarked on a 5 day residential to mull.
  • 2014
    • Received Cashback for Communities funding, allowing us to launch Ur‑Turn youth project after a high demand for this in the Haldane area.
  • 2013
    • Launched our first community duck race, bringing local families together for a great fundraising event.
    • Led our first European visit, with 20 young people travelling to France for a cultural and educational experience.
  • 2011

    This year seen our young people undertaking significant fund-raising events raising £2000 for project activities. 40 young people, staff and volunteers have taken part in climbing Ben Lomond, community walks and bag backs.

  • 2009

    The official handover took place with Tullochan Trust handing full autonomy over to Haldane Youth Services board of Trustees.

    • Our organisation has been operating in the local area since 2006 and has shown considerable growth and development over the years. Initially the Hop, Skip & Jump Project ran for 3 afternoons per week for around 50 children.
    • Over time our attendance numbers continued growing and as demand and interest grew it enabled us to show a need and secure additional funding to start operating 5 afternoons per week.
  • 2006

    The Hop, Skip & Jump Project has been running from June 2000 by the Tullochan Trust.

    • Members of the Local Community were approached by Tullochan Trust to take over the running of their primary project ‘Hop Skip and Jump’ and a service level agreement was put in place for 3 years.
    • Management committee comprising of residents formed to run the project for P4 to P7 pupils from the three local primary schools. Haldane Youth Services established.
