Haldane Youth Services
Haldane Youth Services (HYS) is a registered charity providing afterschool activities and youth provision for children and young people aged 4–24 in West Dunbartonshire. We work closely with local primary and secondary schools to ensure our support is accessible, familiar, and rooted in the community. As a grassroots organisation led by local volunteers, we are deeply committed to promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging for every child and young person who walks through our doors.
Our Aims
We aim to make a positive and lasting difference to the lives of young people and their families by:
Raising aspirations and broadening horizons.
Encouraging confidence and increasing self-esteem.
Giving young people a voice within their community.
Rewarding commitment and positive social interaction.
Supporting young people to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Our Objectives
To move young people toward these aims, we deliver a wide range of opportunities designed to engage, inspire, and support them. Our objectives include:
Offering varied activities and “funshops” across Arts, Culture, Community, Outdoor Learning, and Healthy Living.
Providing afterschool and holiday activities throughout the year.
Creating opportunities for intergenerational relationships.
Delivering trips and outings involving art, sport, culture, music, and outdoor education.
Working in partnership with local schools and charitable organisations that share our values.
