Summer Extravaganza

During the summer of 2021 staff and volunteers at Haldane Youth Services, in partnership with SHINEs Nurture and Engage programme, delivered our Summer Extravaganza Programme to young people in our community.

This was our first face to face delivery as an organisation since August 2020 and it saw us deliver 25 sessions with an amazing 368 separate encounters with young people from the local community.

During the summer period we delivered 696 lunches and provided over 60 activities such as art and crafts, sports and STEM. The success of our programme in 2021 comes with a greater sense of pride and fulfilment, as it came towards the end of the third lockdown faced by our young people and the challenges that lockdowns can bring. As an organisation we were pleased to see our young people once again be able to smile, laugh, have fun, party but most importantly enjoy a sense of normality and togetherness. Whether this was through a game of football, enjoying Circus Sensible or laughing at the tricks of the magician Gary Dunn.

We would like to thank all our volunteers and staff as well as those of West Dunbartonshire council for helping us deliver this amazing summer programme.
